MATCH REPORT | SALFORD RED DEVILS 8-22 LEEDS RHINOS | SATURDAY 22ND FEBRUARY

A second-half comeback from Leeds Rhinos saw them come out on top in testing conditions at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Niall Evalds & Tui Lolohea claimed Salford’s tries, as Oliver Roberts and Chris Atkin made their debuts.

The gruelling nature of the match showed early on, as Krisnan Inu and Luke Yates were forced from the field with injuries in the first twenty minutes, while the match was still scoreless.

Niall Evalds burst through off a Tui Lolohea pass, to claim the first try of the match.

Lolohea then claimed a try of his own in the 27th minute, reaching out to get the ball down over the line.

The Rhinos pulled one back on the stroke of half-time, with Luke Gale converting his own try to put them within two points.

The Rhinos then had a quick flurry of points, as Luke Briscoe and Mikolaj Oledski claimed tries, before Luke Gale kicked a penalty to take their lead to 10 points.
