Community | Salford Schools Get To Meet Red Devils’ Stars

Salford Red Devils teamed up recently with Wellington High School to run a primary school event for over 80 kids.
Two weeks prior to the event, the High School nominated 12 ‘Sports Leaders’ who were trained up on how to coach and referee, and then on the day these 12 leaders ran the day alongside Red Devils’ stars Ben Nakubuwai and Josh Jones.
Community Development Manager Lewis Lockett said: “It was a really enjoyable event and the kids and the players were great for the full session. We’d like to thank Wellington High School and the Sports Leaders, as well as all the Primary Schools that made it a special day.
“We are active in the community on a daily basis and the opportunity to increase Red Devils’ awareness to the kids in our City and beyond is one we are always keen to grasp.”
The schools involved were Heyes Lane Primary School, Cloverlea Primary School, Broadheath Primary School, Firs Primary School and Forest Gate Primary School.
