Commercial | Advanced Steel to feature on kit in 2019

Salford Red Devils are pleased to confirm that Advanced Steel will be partnering the Club again in the 2019 season as one of our official kit sponsors.
Advanced Steel are now heading into their third year on the official Red Devils playing kit and will also be sponsoring one of Salford’s first team players in 2019.
Carl Grundy, Managing Director of Advanced Steel, said: “Advanced Steel are delighted to be sponsoring Salford Red Devils again this season.
“When Ian Blease got in touch, we jumped at the chance again as we are really enjoying being part of the Salford family.
“We are also pleased to be sponsoring Jackson Hastings again and I feel with the signing of ‘Jacko’ and the other quality players we have we can be part of something special this coming season.
“Let’s hope the great people of Salford get behind the team for the 2019 season.”
Director of Rugby and Operations, Ian Blease, said: “It’s great to have Advanced Steel on board for another season.
“We began a partnership a few years ago which has seen Advanced Steel take pride of place on the playing kit and become one of our main partners at the Club.
“Carl has been a fantastic supporter of the Club and sponsored Jackson Hastings on his arrival at the AJ Bell last season; a sponsorship he will continue in 2019.
“We are looking forward to another year of working with Carl and everyone at Advanced Steel and we’re sure they’ll enjoy another year as partners of the Red Devils.”

Community | Jackson Hastings attends U9 Development Evening

Salford halfback Jackson Hastings attended the U9’s Development Evening at local community club Cadishead Rhinos and was met by a raft of young Red Devils.
This was the third U9’s Development Evening ran by the Salford Red Devils Foundation with two previous events being held at Langworthy Reds and the AJ Bell Stadium.
There have been around 40 children at each event from local community clubs Cadishead Rhinos, Langworthy Reds, Salford Roosters and Folly Lane.
Hastings, sponsored by Advanced Steel, said: “It was a fantastic experience for me to go down and see all the young locals playing rugby.
“There were some great players there who definitely have the potential to make a career in the game further down the line.
“I know how touch Salford are with the local community and it was great for me to represent the Club in this capacity.”

Jackson Hastings | “We have to make sure we do our homework”

Salford Red Devils halfback Jackson Hastings appeared on the BBC’s Super League Show and spoke about his impact at the AJ Bell Stadium and the difficulty of the upcoming fixture against Toronto Wolfpack.
Hastings, sponsored by Advanced Steel and speaking on BBC’s Super League show, said: “The results we’ve had have been nothing short of amazing.
“I think I just wanted to bring a bit of control and leadership and also a bit of energy and enthusiasm in attack. Everything I do is to play quick and with a positive energy.
“The position we’ve been in as a Club and then finding ourselves in The Qualifiers you have to do everything with a positive mindset. You can’t go into games thinking I hope we win, or I hope this comes off you’ve got to be really positive in your approach.”
The Red Devils face Toronto Wolfpack on Saturday at the AJ Bell Stadium looking to make it four from four in The Qualifiers however Hastings knows how tough the game will be.
“This week’s game – apart from the first – will probably be our hardest test.
“Toronto are the Betfred Championship side who everyone thinks can really make the Betfred Super League and be competitive so if we’re off by an inch we’ll get done.
“We have to make sure we do our homework and be ready to go.”

Jackson Hastings | “Rob Lui is the best halfback in the competition”

Jackson Hastings was again instrumental as the Red Devils overcame Widnes Vikings on Saturday afternoon however he pointed to his halfback partner Rob Lui as the ‘best in the competition’.
Hastings, sponsored by Advanced Steel, said: “He’s the best halfback in the competition for he – hands down.
“There are some great halfbacks in the competition but these last three games I haven’t seen anything like it.
“He went off with fifteen minutes to go and we sort of lost our way a little bit.
“I love playing with him, the raw talent that bloke has is unbelievable and he just turns up for training and pulls stuff off that I’ve never seen before.”

Salford have won three consecutive games – for the first time since May 2017 – since Hastings’ arrival last month but the Australian points to the set-up at the Club as a key factor in the upturn in form.
Hastings said: “It’s a credit to the Club and the way its run.
“The Club has received a lot of criticism this season in terms of results and the way its been run but it’s been nothing short of amazing since I arrived.
“Our coaching set-up is second to none. They’re all former internationals and world class players and their knowledge is just filtering down and slowly but surely, we’re developing a game plan that suits us.
“We’ve got such a good culture here at the moment and we’ve just got to keep the ball rolling and hopefully we’ll do something special.”

Speaking on BBC Radio Manchester, Hastings, sponsored by Advanced Steel, said: “I’ve never experienced anything like that.
“I’ve played in front of bigger crowds but the noise from our fans and the Leeds fans combined was pretty special for a first game.
“I felt really welcome from not only the players and coaching staff but the fans as well who gave me an unbelievable reception.
“We’ve got a couple of hard games coming up against teams with very vocal fans which will be very exciting as well.”

Junior Sa’u | “We come back Monday and keep working hard”

Salford Red Devils centre Junior Sa’u feels there a lot of positives to take from Friday’s game and already can’t wait to get back into training on Monday.
Sa’u, sponsored by Advanced Steel, said: “We come back Monday and keep working hard.
“I thought we were a lot better than last week and I thought we turned up in our defence.
“Unfortunately, we fell short but we can take a lot of positives out of that game so yeah I’m really happy with the boys effort.”
Sa’u muscled up in defence along with the forward pack who were pivotal to Salford almost coming away with a point at the Mobile Rocket Stadium.
Sa’u said: “It’s always tough to come here [Wakefield] and try and get the win but you know like I said even though we lost there’s a lot of positives we can take from this game and keep building.
“They’ve got one of the big forward packs in the competition and I thought our forwards did a great job to match them as well.”
Junior Sa’u’s full post-match interview will be available on Salford Red Devils TV later today.

2018 home kit is an instant hit with supporters

Salford’s 2018 home kit has been an instant hit with Red Devils supporters who took to social media to express their delight at the kit release.
The kit is a reboot of the home jersey worn by Salford between 1986-1988, a period in which current CEO Ian Blease played, and the fans like the trip down memory lane.
Again, the Red Devils have gone for a red kit but the reintroduction of #FourStripes across the front and on the shoulders has pleased fans. #FourStripes can also be seen on the socks while the new Club crest takes pride of place on the shirt.
Major Club partners Applied Nutrition, Austin Wilkinson, Advanced Steel, Mitsubishi, Prowood, Salmon King and Trust Salford all feature on the 2018 kit.
Salford Red Devils CEO, Ian Blease, said: “I’m also particularly fond of the kit as it’s a reboot of one that I proudly wore in the 1980’s.”
Here is some of the social media reaction:

Salford legend Jackie Brennan to present the ball on Thursday

Salford Red Devils legend Jackie Brennan is set to present the ball tomorrow night before our final game of the 2017 season.
Brennan captained the side during Salford’s last visit to Wembley in 1969 as the Red Devils fell to a 11-6 defeat to Castleford Tigers in the Challenge Cup final. Brennan made 317 appearances for the Salford between 1959 and 1970 scoring 70 tries from half-back. The half-back also features in the Salford’s Team of the Century.
CEO Ian Blease and Head Coach Ian Watson went for a meal with Salford legends Brennan, Graham Jones, Hugh Duffy and John Cheshire last week at Alberts in Worsley which has led to Brennan presenting the match ball before tomorrow’s game against St Helens.
