Kriss Brining leaves Salford

Salford Red Devils can confirm that Kriss Brining has left the Club following a lengthy lay-off with injury.
Brining joined the Red Devils in 2017 and made 24 appearances scoring five tries in his debut Betfred Super League season but was unable to feature in the 2018 season due to injury.
Salford Red Devils Head Coach Ian Watson said: “It was an extremely tough decision to let Kriss go.
“Kriss was one of my first signings and I’d have loved to have continued our journey together. I’m still of the opinion that Kriss still has the potential to go far in the game.
“I’m hopeful that we can work together again in the future and this is something I’ve discussed with Kriss. Hopefully he gets his career back up and running but due to current circumstances we were unable to offer Kriss a deal for next season.
“We already have three hookers signed up for the 2019 season and with Kriss still trying to overcome a long-term injury we came to the decision to let Kriss go which wasn’t easy for us.”
Salford Red Devils can confirm that Gavin Bennion has also left the Club after making two appearances in 2018.
We’d like to thank Kriss and Gavin for their efforts.

Dual Reg/Loan Watch | Bennion in action for Rochdale Hornets

Unfortunately, it was an afternoon to forget for the Hornets as they fell to an 80-4 defeat against Featherstone Rovers at the LD Nutrition Stadium.
Bennion – who joined the Red Devils from Rochdale at the start of the season – began the game at prop-forward.
Brad Dwyer – on dual-registration from Leeds Rhinos – crossed for six tries while James Lockwood notched a hat-trick. Jason Walton, Brad Knowles, Anthony Thackeray and John Davies also scored while Rob Massam went over for Rochdale’s solitary score.
Bennion could feature next weekend against Swinton Lions before also being available for fixtures against Leigh Centurions and Toronto Wolfpack.

The Tigers are in Town, but we’ll roar louder!

Dual-Registration | Bennion features as Oldham make it six in a row

Salford Red Devils forward Gavin Bennion was in action this weekend for dual-registration partners Oldham RLFC as the Roughyeds made it six consecutive wins in Betfred League One.
Bennion started at prop-forward in the dominant victory over fellow promotion hopefuls Doncaster RLFC with the win giving Oldham a two-point buffer in 3rd place above their opponents this weekend.
Oldham went into the break leading 16-0 after tries from Danny Langtree and Luke Hooley alongside four goals from Paul Crook. The hosts maintained control in the second half with Luke Nelmes, Lee Kershaw and Phil Joy all crossing after the break.
Bennion has now featured twice for the Roughyeds this season. Oldham travel to Coventry Bears in their next Betfred League One fixture on Sunday 10th June.
