The event, organised by Helen Johnson of Irlam Library, saw almost 50 children attend and spend their morning building Lego and playing bingo with Dr Devil.
Johnson said: “Thanks to Salford for arranging to come down to our event at Irlam Library.
“It was chaos, but good chaos. We had over 40 children attend the event in the end which was great.
“I’m really pleased we could do something, I’ve been a fan all my life so I’m glad I could include Salford in some way into my work.”

SRD Foundation announced as Walkabout Printworks Charity Partner

The Salford Red Devils Foundation are delighted to have been announced as the Official Charity Partner of popular Manchester bar and restaurant Walkabout.

The Australian themed bar set in their brand new location in the Printworks complex has established itself as one of the premium locations to watch rugby league in the city.
Walkabout already sponsor the club’s Head Coach Ian Watson, as well as Director of Rugby Tim Sheens, and this new partnership will not only strengthen the growing relationship between the bar and the club, but raise thousands of pounds for community programmes.
To celebrate the launch of the charity partnership, staff from the Red Devils, featuring Club Ambassador Adrian Morley, took on a Walkabout side in their infamous Man vs Food Challenge. The Red Devils came out on top after eating a mammoth amount of food in the 30 min time slot.
Walkabout General Manager Martin Angus oversaw the recent Man vs Food challenge, which launched the partnership and is looking forwards to seeing it develop;
“As everyone knows we are a great place to relax, enjoy good food and watch sport, but what most don’t know is that we are committed to raising money for good causes close to our heart, Working with the Red Devils Foundation over the next 12 months will see us help to make a real impact on the local community through their various fantastic health and education programmes. It’s a great fit for us and we are looking forward to working together to raise a lot of money for the charity.”
Foundation Director Mark Brocklehurst is delighted with the partnership and feels it can really make a difference;
“It’s great that we’ve been announced as Walkabout’s official charity partners, with their support we’ll be able to build on the community work we already do and fantastic to have such a big name like Walkabout on board”

SRD Foundation to feature on shirt this Saturday

Those eagle eyed Salford Red Devils supporters will notice something different about the kit this weekend as the club takes on the Catalan Dragons. The Salford Red Devils Foundation will feature on the front of the Devils playing jersey for the first time this season.
Alcohol licensing laws in France prohibits the advertising of alcohol on kits and as such the Red Devils are taking the opportunity to showcase and honour the community work being done by the club, and broadcast its community programmes to the wider world.
Behind the scenes, the club delivers 1000s of hours of community initiatives across Greater Manchester and beyond. Players such as Captain Tommy Lee, and club ambassador Adrian Morley alongside club mascot Doctor Devil lead the way as Red Devils players and coaching staff feature in hundreds of player promotions each year.
Under the umbrella of its very own Foundation a team of dedicated coaches, teachers and volunteers deliver a range of sport, health and education based programmes. Working with over 125 schools in the last year, across Salford, Manchester, Trafford and Bury, the clubs community operation has its own museum and classroom facilities at the AJ Bell Stadium.
The Foundation delivers a range of projects including our Tackle Men’s Health initiative, a schools coaching programme, community club development work, a Red Devils Dance Academy and our very own Rising Stars Player Development Programme amongst much much more
If you’ve seen the shirt live, or on Sky TV and want to find out more on how you and your business or school could get involved please call a member of staff on 0161 7861591
The highly anticipated Super League clash kicks off at 5pm GMT, and you will be able to see this very limited edition shirt in action live on Sky Sports 2.
